Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) will be attending the 43rd edition of the Semaine de l’agriculture, de l’alimentation et de la consommation (SAAC) in Quebec City. Children and adults alike can take part in games to learn more about Canada’s diversified agriculture. Agricultural science will also be featured! On Saturday and Sunday, don’t miss the opportunity to meet our experts from the Quebec Research and Development Centre, who will be happy to talk with you about their research and recent discoveries.
Agriculture and Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions
Agriculture can also do its part to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. But how can we make new discoveries for more sustainable farming practices? Our expert will show you how for a wide variety of crops: corn, grains, legumes and forages (hay).
A Live Look at the World of Roots!
Root systems play a key role in crop productivity and soil health. Come take a “live” look at the roots of field-grown plants through a high-tech tool: the microscope camera.
The SAAC is a public exhibition organized by students of Université Laval, in Quebec City. This event, which over the years has become a must in Quebec’s agri-food sector, uses a creative, interactive and fun approach to present the many facets of the world of agriculture and agri-food.
